At the end of 2025, a large local construction consortium in Honduras won a major national highway expansion project, which connects multiple core industrial zones in the central highland area of Honduras. The massive infrastructure construction generates huge long-term demand for high-grade concrete aggregate and asphalt dedicated manufactured sand. However, local natural river sand reserves are continuously depleted, and the government has issued strict bans on unrestricted river sand mining for environmental protection, making it difficult for the contractor to obtain qualified construction sand stably.

Basalt resources are widely distributed in Honduras volcanic zones, becoming the most accessible alternative raw material. Nevertheless, basalt features ultra-high hardness and strong abrasion, which causes severe wear and frequent breakdowns on ordinary standard crushing equipment. The client invited multiple mining machinery manufacturers for technical bidding. After comprehensive comparison of process design, equipment wear resistance, environmental supporting facilities and after-sales service capacity, only Baichy Heavy Industry could provide a fully integrated turnkey system covering crushing, sand shaping and sand washing as a complete set solution, finally winning the project cooperation.

I. Complete Turnkey Basalt Processing Solution Delivered by Baichy Heavy Industry

According to the customer’s production requirements, Baichy designed a complete 250–300TPH basalt crushing, sand making, and washing production line. The system integrates feeding, primary crushing, secondary crushing, fine crushing, screening, sand shaping, washing, and water recycling into one complete solution.

The production line was customized according to basalt characteristics, focusing on stable output quality, strong equipment durability, and environmentally friendly operation. The turnkey solution reduced project coordination difficulties and provided the customer with one complete supplier covering equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, and technical support.

II. Multi-Stage Crushing Equipment Ensures Stable Aggregate Production

Large basalt rocks with a maximum feeding size of 800mm are first processed by the PE jaw crusher. The heavy-duty crushing equipment reduces large stones into smaller materials suitable for the following crushing stages, providing stable material supply for the entire production line.

The crushed materials then enter HP hydraulic cone crushers for secondary and tertiary crushing. Combined with vibrating screening equipment, the system produces different sizes of cubic aggregates, including 10–20mm and 20–40mm products, which are widely used in highway and concrete construction projects.

III. VSI Sand Making and Washing System Produces High-Quality Manufactured Sand

To provide an alternative solution to natural river sand, Baichy installed a VSI vertical shaft impact crusher for manufactured sand production. The equipment improves material shape and produces high-quality sand with stable grading, meeting the requirements of modern construction projects.

The produced sand is further processed through the XDS wheel sand washer and dewatering system to remove impurities and improve cleanliness. The closed-loop water recycling system allows wastewater treatment and reuse, reducing freshwater consumption and supporting environmentally responsible production.

IV. Overseas Installation and Technical Service Guarantee Smooth Project Operation

After equipment manufacturing and factory testing, Baichy dispatched professional engineers to Honduras for on-site installation supervision and commissioning. The service team completed equipment assembly, electrical connection, control system integration, and production testing within the planned schedule.

Baichy engineers also provided comprehensive operator training covering equipment operation, daily maintenance, safety procedures, and production adjustment. After training, local operators were able to independently operate and manage the complete crushing, sand making, and washing system.

After three months of operation, the Honduras basalt processing plant has achieved stable production performance with an average capacity of approximately 280TPH and peak output reaching 310TPH. Finished aggregates and manufactured sand maintain consistent quality for highway infrastructure applications.

This successful project demonstrates Baichy Heavy Industry’s capability in providing complete overseas mining equipment solutions. From customized process design and equipment manufacturing to installation support and after-sales service, Baichy helps global customers build efficient and reliable aggregate production plants.

Frequently Asked Questions About Honduras Basalt Crushing Plant

Q: What raw material does this Honduras turnkey production line process?
A: It is specially customized for local basalt in Honduras, a kind of high-hardness abrasive hard rock with Mohs hardness 6–7 and compressive strength 100–300MPa.
Q: What finished products can the 250–300TPH basalt line produce?
A: Two categories finished materials: 10–20mm & 20–40mm cubic highway aggregate, adjustable 0–5mm manufactured sand for asphalt and concrete construction.
Q: Why adopt jaw + two-stage hydraulic cone crusher for basalt processing?
A: Basalt is highly abrasive. Laminated crushing of double hydraulic cone crushers removes flaky particles, forms cubic aggregate and extends wear spare parts service life to adapt long-hour continuous operation.
